About Hillary Geffner

Hillary Geffner is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in New York, and sees clients in our Midtown office. Hillary earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Long Island University. Hillary has trained extensively in a variety of settings including private practice, clinic, and non-for-profit settings. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, relationship distress, depression, stress management, and phase of life challenges for adult populations.

Hillary views the therapeutic process as a collaborative journey between therapist and client. Taking a compassionate and exploratory stance, Hillary works to establish a safe and nonjudgmental environment that encourages an exploration of self and factors that may be hindering growth. Hillary’s hands on approach is holistic in nature, taking into account every aspect of the client in order to facilitate a higher sense of self-awareness to develop and maintain fulfilling interpersonal relationships.

Hillary draws from systemic and integrative approaches that create space for exploration, questioning, and goal setting for her clients. She works from a strength based perspective and believes each person has the capacity to create change. Hillary uses warmth, compassion, curiosity, and empathy to help clients heal from historical attachment injuries and make meaning in their lives.

Hillary has experience working with intimacy and sex related challenges in both a couple and individual setting. She is trained in premarital therapy and is certified in Prepare/Enrich counseling.
