Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety is experienced in so many different ways, and seems to be heightened in the fast pace of New York City. The pressures of success, careers, dating, relationships, and children, are just some of the common stressors Manhattan seems to provoke.

Anxiety can show up in very different ways, but we often see it through a lens of overwhelming fears. Anxiety disorders can affect all aspects of a person's life, and can be incredibly debilitating.

Do you notice yourself worrying often, being irritable, or having trouble sleeping? Do you experience anxiety in everyday social situations? Is it uncomfortable or stressful to interact socially? Maybe you feel like you're constantly being judged by others, and fear being embarrassed or humiliated?

Starting the process of individual counseling with a therapist can elicit many feelings. I recognize that you may be in a really tough place in your life, and I appreciate you reaching out for help right now.

I expect you to try not to be defensive, to communicate when you are, and to commit to altering the behaviors that are getting in the way of your growth. When these conditions are met, we have an excellent chance that you will reach your goals, and start living a life free of anxiety.
